good puppy teething toys

hey guys it's faris, pet expert and dog trainer for superawesomedogs.com and today i want to talk to you about the six items you need for your dog. now, when you walk into a pet store it's really confusing! there's so many things! but i want to tell you what you need for your essentials. -music playing- first, you want to make sure that you have a bed for your dog. a place that he can call his own that he can sleep in at night. you can have him in your bed and sleep with you if you want

but, if you want to keep your bed fur free and dirt free have a bed where they can sleep in you want to make sure that you have a collar for your dog with tags on it now, these tags is your dog's ticket home! it's going to have his name on it with a phone number and some other contact information of your's in case your dog ever gets lost. so we are going to talk about different types of collars this is a buckle collar

really this should just be used as identification for your dog you are just putting it on the dog with tags a lot of people just use a buckle collar for leash work but it doesn't give a lot of give and it really puts a lot of strain on their trachea. you can get a martingale collar this has a little loop on one side so it goes snug on the dog's neck this is better than a regular collar because it's going to give even pressure around the entire neck

not just in the front really putting a lot of strain on that trachea this is a gentle leader kind of like a horse haulter it's a face collar so when you put it on you get to lead the dog's face because the face leads the entire body of the dog you are going to have a lot of more control this is a chest harness it goes around the chest

just on the top and on the back bueller has a chest harness on right now basically you are guiding the dog kind of like the gentle leader that goes around the face but it goes on the front of the body and guides the dog that way it doesn't put a lot of strain on the trachea like neck collar would it's really good for small dogs like bueller if you do want to use prong collars, pinch collars, chock collars

you should really only use them if you contact a professional with those those can really do a lot of damage if you do not know how to correctly use them so i would say, just use something like what i've shown you. chest harness, face harness (gentle leader), or a martingale collar. for something easier and not so painful i wouldn't suggest using retractable leashes they are kind of messy they go in and out

they do not give a lot of strain you want to have your dog next to you on the side you do not want to have your dog out infront of you having a proper leash that you can have your dog next to you is ideal toys are really great for your dog you want to stimulate their minds always have fun squeaky toys, depending on what your dog likes, if your dog chews theses up, get something more sturdy like balls tugs of war toys. stuffed animals are really great with squeakers!

dogs really like those puzzles! especially for puppies! you put treats in here you shut it it teaches the dog how to get the treat out of the puzzle it's sort of like a brain game for your dog it gives them something to really think about really work at kongs are really great!

you can stuff them with cheese or even healthier options like bananas and carrots or peanut butter you can even put it in the freezer let it freeze and then it can be even more secure and hard. then your dog will have to work at it and get it out of there kongs are good for dogs because they like to chew on things! you should definitely get your dogs chews! and rawhides! this is going to help your dog with tartar and build up on it's teeth. it's going to push away that tartar and get them something to work on

dogs instinctively chew on things, so you want to make sure that your dog has the correct chew and they are not chewing on chairs and on your shoes!!! lastly you want to get a crate for your dog, this is their bedroom, it's a place that they are going to call their own you own the entire house! this is their den, their bedroom this is where they can call their own you talked about crate training in our potty training episode, so be sure to check it out alright guys thanks for watching! this is your bare essentials for owning a dog
