my toothache is only getting worse. will ineed a root canal? a root canal occurs when the dentist essentiallysays the tooth is dead, because the infection reached the nerves. the dentist has to hollowout the tooth before putting in a support for it. that sounds like something i want to avoid.what if i just wait? persistent pain is your body’s warning sign.you can put ice on the jaw to ease the pain, but you shouldn’t ignore it. what causes a toothache that becomes a rootcanal? you need a root canal if there is an infectionin the jaw, because the infection ate through
the tooth. you might or might not have a pussac near the tooth. does that mean the root has died? if the root has died, you might or might notfeel pain. but the dentist would see it in an x-ray and be able to say you need a rootcanal because the root nerve has died. i brush quite a bit. what else could causethis? if you’ve had a serious trauma to the tooth,the nerve might die. one of the first signs of that is a darkened tooth or pain that stops. could i have prevented this pain by havinga root canal done before? never have a root canal done as a preventativemeasure. if you have a root canal done, the

do i have to have a root canal? you could skip the root canal and just havethe tooth pulled. then you can get a bridge to replace that tooth, essentially gettinga fake tooth.
