welcome back to my channel thecandyguy where i talk about treats for the sweet tooth today i'm going to talk about andes mints andes mints were created in the 1950's by andy's candies andrew kanelos originally named the company andy's candies after himself in 1921 but later they drop the "y" apostraphe "s" and change it to it to "e" "s" and they added the snow-capped mountains to the logo andes mints are made in wisconsin and have been owned and distributed by the tootsie company since the year 2000
the most recognizable andes mint is the crã¨me de menthe which is french for mint cream there's other flavors out there and i think i've had oops (dropped mint) i think i've had one other one before, but i can't recall but for those of you that go to the olive garden the andes mint that they pass out after dinner is actually a special and different recipe they make altogether for the restaurant chain my hands are warm so it's kind of melting (laughs) my bad but the andes mint is a small little chocolate square
thin, rectangular shape has andes and the snow-capped mountains behind the logo on the face of the candy and you can see the little line of mint going around it, it goes it's pretty much a chocolate on mint and chocolate sandwich alright here we go i love andes mints let me tell you that and i just love the chocolate flavor and the refreshing cool taste that you get from the mint
ugh so cold! who brought on the blizzard? okay maybe it's not that cool in your mouth but it is, you get the chocolate flavor and then you get overpowered by the cool refreshing taste of the mint it's just a really simple candy, milk chocolate and mint flavor and i really enjoy it. i've had andes mints for a long time they're one of my favorite candies. and i just enjoy the flavor and taste i recommend it. give it a try if you haven't thank you for watching this week's video of thecandyguy
