john cherevka: next step with these molds, is to cast some positives. you can do two different styles, depending on your budget and your time frame. you can either do stone, which is perfectly fine for the sculpture. or you can do resin, which works better for the casting. i do both, usually.
i do a stone and a resin. the stone we're going to make right now. it's just like what we've done before. except this time it's a full batch of stone. we're going to do a nice quantity. this i want to medium mix. i don't want it too thick, i don't want ittoo runny. now these are tough silicone molds, i don't have to baby them like the lifecasts,previously.
these can be, i'll pour a little bit in, this is a good trick too, pour a little bitin, tap it flat, and drain them out. all right, those are drying. and these are dry. so that's what that makes. from that mold. and these are the set we're going to run withfor the rest of the show.
i just wanted to do this so we didn't waitaround forever just waiting for materials to dry. so, it's the same thing, same teeth, sameeverything. it's a little more cleaned up, like i said, i would have taken a little extra time andtidied up a little bit of stuff. now it's just fine, i just need a couple minutesto reset and we're getting into vaccu-forming.
