many pythons are semi aquatic reptileshunting their prey mostly near water. the moscovy duck is just as invasivespecies to florida as the pythons preying on these abundant birds. pythons are constrictors and don't havefangs to kill their prey like venomous snakes. but they do have two rows ofvery sharp needle-like teeth that grap their prey item efficiently leavinglittle chance of escaping death from fixation. the prey will be swallowed whole due tothe fact that the python's jaws are
able to separate between its ligamentsallowing the reptile to feed on large animals even five times as wide as thesnakes head. in the wild snakes like this reticulatedpython do not eat every day. they spent their mornings soaking up the sun light toelevate its body temperature, enabling them to move around and search for foodwhen hunger compels them. it has been observed in recent time thatlarger pythons don't just feed on birds but they do plunder their nests and feed on the eggs as well. these rare feeding behavior has beenverified for many sources but it has never been recorded on film.
most pythons prey on mammals, birds and reptiles of appropriate size. the presence of domestic fowels, pics andmostly rodents that certainly attract these large predators to agriculturedevelopment as well as urban areas. after feeding on such large prey the python will spend the next severaldays or even weeks keeping warm enough to digest its meal.it's powerful digestive juices were dissolved the entire duck, including allits bones, claws and feathers. if the food sources in the evergladesbecome scared the pythons will not hesitate to followtheir prey, like the moscovy ducks
into urban parks and lakes. these would certainly post an increaseddanger for its residence, in particular for the children.
