we set the soda bottle watering system upa few weeks ago in our blue barrels and it reminded me of slight problem we had last year and ithought i'd tell you what it was and how we took care of it and the problem was the dreadedphilo beddoe. yeah he's a pretty good dog but he thought the 11 soda bottles we put inthose barrels were toys for him and the first day we set them up he pulled 10 of 11 sodabottles out of the barrels chewed five of them up and we had to remake those five. this is how we took care of the problem wegot some cheese cloth and put a tablespoon of hot pepper powder in it and tied up good,then took that little bundle and dropped it in our pump sprayer and let it sit overnight.
the next day we sprayed the bottles and theedges of the blue barrels and he came around and he grabbed 4 or 5 of them but he onlychewed on a couple and he left the rest alone. the next day we put them back in and sprayedthem again and he grabbed a couple but he didn't chew on this time and weput them back in and sprayed them again and after that he left him alone. this year we sprayed them and we sprayed theblue barrels one time and he never touch them, he remembered the scent of the hot pepperspray and that's how we took care of that problem. this is how things work in philo's world inthe house everything belongs to people unless
it's been specifically given to him and heknows its his and he'll play with it whenever he wants. outside everything belongs him unlesshe's been specifically told no and he's a bit of a kleptomaniac, you can't open yourtrunk and leave it open to bring the groceries in. he jumped in the trunk and stole a 12pound turkey one time and he stole a gallon of milk, we caught him on that one. he grabbeda big bundle of paper towels rip them up of all over the yard and a few other things.oh yeah and he really likes the ups guy and the fedex guy because they continually putbig brown boxes on the top step for him to play with, we caught him ripping those upa few times too, so if you ever come in my yard keep your stuff closed.
