- this is preston, he is 2 1/2 and he has a heart defect called hypoplastic left heart syndrome. - preston's heart is different because our hearts have four chambers, preston's only has three. so we had to have surgeries to correct so that his heart can work and pump blood through his body only using
the one ventricle. - when we first found out about his heart condition we were devastated. i come from a long line of heart problems. both of my grandfathers passed away from heart disease. i never knew that children were born with heart conditionsas severe as preston's or could live a healthy life
like he will be able to. the american heart association has been great in providing funding for research for diagnosis of children much younger with heart conditions. they have provided uswith a lot of information about his heart defect and showing us that he can live a pretty normal life even compared to children that don't have
a condition like his. thank you for raising money for the american heart association to help people like preston.
