a black line at the base of a tooth with a crown is something that can distract from a beautiful smile, and make a crown look like a false tooth or cap. that’s because old style crowns contain metal underneath for strength, which cause the gums to recede slightly and reveal a black metal line. but you don’t need to worry about that anymore because we only provide newer porcelain crowns that are very strong
